Colin Parkin

Colin Parkin of COVAL Risk Management Solutions has extensive experience in providing consultancy services to business and industry across Australia, South East Asia, China and Mexico. A professional engineer by education and experience, specialising in process control computer systems, he came to Australia from the UK in 1988 as the Electrical Engineer for a new manufacturing operation.

Now a Safety Practitioner, Colin has served as a Principal Consultant at the National Safety Council 
of Australia for over 6 years and has specific target interests in risk management, auditing, performance indicators, people development and the psychology of incidents. 
 
He has extensive experience and expertise in the development and implementation of corporate 
safety management systems and the associated auditing to various standards such as AS4801. 
He’s partnered with various organisations in performing critical strategic reviews and modifications of safety management systems & utilizing principles for total safety culture.  

With wide ranging experience in developing and delivering training programs and workshops Colin has recently worked with Professor Andrew Hopkins to produce three DVD based ‘leading edge’ safety workshops. 
 
Colin is a Chartered Professional Member of the Safety Institute of Australia and has a Master’s degree in Safety Systems from the University of Western Sydney. He is FutureMedia’s Principal Safety Consultant.
